Changing existing Show content (and a video problem)

    Hello!

Sorry if these are dumb questions but I'm new to RLS (although very impressed with the capabilities I've seen so far!).

If I have created a Show with just an audio file (and no conductor track) is there a way to add a conductor track to the existing Show (or replace an existing conductor track with a new one) - or is the only option to create a new Show?

Similarly, is there a way to replace an existing audio file in a Show with a new/updated version?

We were performing a 'proof of concept' test yesterday with a director and 2 participants and were very impressed with the results we could achieve. However, there was a problem with the video views. Although the director could see the video feed from both participants' cameras, neither participant could see the others video feed, only a box with their initials in it. They could both see the director's video successfully (and the little pop-up video of the participant when they were speaking, which appears in the top left corner of the director's video feed). So, RLS must have been receiving video from the participants to be able to display it in that way. Any idea why it wouldn't be displayed in the individual's 'channel strip'? I have read the comment in your FAQ suggesting that another app like Zoom could be stealing the video feed - but I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case for me as RLS was the only application running on my computer (Windows 10 PC) - plus the fact that the participants video feed did appear in the director's channel strip does suggest that RLS was getting the video signal successfully...?

Thanks in advance and kind regards,

    Dave.

It's not currently possible to add or replace a conductor track to an existing show. I would recommend rebuilding the show instead.

Instead of replacing a song's audio file, you can delete the original song, and then re-add it with the new audio file.

Participants cannot see each other's video feeds directly, so this behavior is expected. Technically speaking, live share sessions do not create “peer connections” between every single user in a session, but rather, only between the director and each participant.  It’s for this reason that conversation mode works a little differently than programs such as Zoom.  Instead of each user communicating and speaking to one another through a direct connection, each participant’s speech and video is channeled through the director’s channel, then re-broadcasted to all participants.  This design choice allowed for much higher efficiency and reliability in RLS’s main function of music making.
